On July 28, Vital Voices, Samuel Goldwyn Films, and the 21st Century Defense Initiative at the Brookings Institution held an exclusive screening of The Whistleblower in Washington, D.C., followed by a lively panel discussion with director Larysa Kondracki, Vital Voices Vice President for Human Rights Cindy Dyer, Peter Singer of Brookings, and the woman at the center of the story, Kathryn Bolkovac. The feature film, starring Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz, is a drama inspired by the experiences of a UN peacekeeper who exposed human trafficking and corruption in post-war Bosnia.
